About Techfluence

Why Techfluence

While others automate and delegate, we do the opposite — senior-level strategy, deep creator relationships, and new ideas that deliver, all executed personally by someone who has spent 20+ years inside the consumer tech industry.

Barry Myers is a marketing strategist, experiential media pioneer, and technology communications leader whose 20+ year career has been spent at the intersection of consumer tech, media, and marketing. He has helped hundreds of consumer tech brands — from Fortune 50 companies to some of the hottest startups of the past two decades — cut through the noise, generate buzz, and drive sales.

Before founding Techfluence, Barry held leadership roles at Ziff Davis and AOL, working alongside top tech journalists at PCMag, Engadget, and gdgt. He co-founded DigitalLife, created gdgt Live — a tabletop event series that grew to 26 events in 12 cities before AOL acquired gdgt in 2013 — and has had a hand in some of consumer tech's most innovative event formats, including Engadget Expand, CE Week, and Last Gadget Standing at CES.

Long before "influencer marketing" entered the mainstream vocabulary, Barry recognized that social media would give rise to a powerful new category of consumer voice — one that could shape public opinion more authentically than traditional advertising ever could. Since founding Techfluence, he has built a network of hundreds of tech influencers and continued developing programs that are effective, easy to execute, and built for brands working with real-world budgets.

He holds a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law and dual bachelor's degrees in Communications and Political Science from American University.

Whether orchestrating a global product debut or helping a breakout startup make its first splash, Barry focuses on one thing: creating marketing activations that move the needle.

The Techfluence Difference

In a world of automated tools and delegated accounts, we do things differently.

Most agencies today use AI-driven platforms to discover creators, generate briefs, and report on campaigns. Those tools have their place — but they can't replicate 20 years of category knowledge, a personal relationship with a creator who picks up the phone, or the judgment to know when a campaign strategy needs to change before the brief goes out.

At Techfluence, technology informs our decisions. It doesn't make them. Barry applies data, relationships, and hard-won expertise to every engagement — and he does it personally, every time. That's not a positioning statement. It's how we're built.

⚖️

Negotiation & Protection

Barry studied negotiation at BU Law and has applied that expertise specifically to influencer contracts for years — securing favorable fees, usage rights for paid amplification, exclusivity terms, and performance protections most brands never think to ask for. We also manually review every post for FTC disclosure compliance, so your brand is never exposed to regulatory risk because a creator forgot a hashtag.
